Indian Wells Police Arrest Drunk Driver

On Thursday, June 28 at approximately 6:23 p.m., officers from the Indian Wells Police Department responded to a traffic collision in the 76-000 block of Highway 111, Indian Wells.  It was determined the driver, Gustavo Aguirre, 37-years-old of La Quinta, was traveling eastbound on Highway 111, when he collided with another vehicle that was also traveling eastbound on Highway 111. After the vehicles collided, Aguirre’s vehicle veered off the road and collided into a wall adjacent to Highway 111.

During the investigation it was determined that Aguirre showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Aguirre was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Once treated, he was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. 

The Indian Wells Police Department encourages all drivers not to drink and drive. To report drunk drivers, please call 911.
